Tonight it was freezing outside, and the snow crunched underfoot. High above the quiet landscape, it was a beautiful, clear, and bright winter night. The sky looked like a huge dark blue velvet, sparkling with millions of Christmas stars. They were all diligently preparing for the most important time of the year. They cleaned their rays and practiced their most beautiful silver and gold glow to light up the whole sky. Everyone except one. A little star named Stella sat huddled in the darkest corner of the sky, sighing quietly 🌌.
Stella was the youngest of all the stars and was very afraid. “What if I’m not bright enough? What if I turn on my light and my weak glow looks silly next to those big stars, or what if I shine so weakly that no one even sees me?” she thought sadly, with tears welling up in her eyes. She preferred to stay unlit in the corner of the sky so that no one would see her. An old wise moon passed by her. He stopped, smiled warmly, and said in a deep but kind voice: “Stella, there is no need to compare yourself to others. Every light in the sky has its own time and purpose. Don’t worry, you will be beautiful and radiant.” 🌙
At the same time, deep in a valley at the North Pole, pre-Christmas preparations were reaching their peak. In Santa’s workshop, the elves were busily wrapping the last presents. Elves were running from left to right, fast, fast, just to get everything done on time. There was a huge hustle and bustle in Santa’s workshop, no one was resting. The most beautiful and magical night of the year was fast approaching. But the night was so deep and the dark shadows of the ice floes fell so unluckily on the workshop that the elves inside could no longer see the ribbons and name tags. They were very afraid that the tags would get mixed up. Some were already panicking: “What if I mess up and Justin gets a doll? Or Helen gets a football?” Another shouted: “Does anyone have a headlamp? I can’t see a thing!”
To make matters worse, Santa’s young reindeer were outside on an important scout flight. They were practicing flying in formation, but in the deep darkness among the ice floes, they suddenly lost their orientation and couldn’t find their way back to the safe stable near Santa’s house 🦌. “It’s too dark, the shadows have covered everything! If someone doesn’t shine a light directly into the valley, the elves won’t finish wrapping the presents and the reindeer won’t find their way home,” sighed the old moon, who with his broad glow couldn’t target one small spot between the ice floes. The reindeer grumbled under their breath: “Of all days, Rudolph didn’t come with us today. Just our luck, he had to stay in the stable and rest. He would have lit our way with his red nose.”
Stella saw from the sky that the Christmas preparations were in danger. At that moment, she completely forgot her fear and what others would think of her. She knew she had to help. She stepped completely forward from her dark corner, took a deep breath, and closed her eyes. From the very inside of her heart radiated a pure, sincere desire to help her friends on earth. To help the reindeer find their way back to the stable and to shine more light for the elves on the presents, ribbons, and name tags so they could work better. And then it happened ✨!
Stella lit up with such a beautiful, bright, and sharp golden light that the sky had never experienced before. Her ray shone exactly on the North Pole. She aimed it directly into the dark valley. One part of her light flew through the windows of Santa’s workshop and perfectly illuminated the tables of the elves, who continued wrapping with cheers. The second part of the ray shone like a bright lighthouse for the lost reindeer, who safely made it back to the stable thanks to her light 🏰.
The big stars in the sky began to clap enthusiastically for Stella and rejoiced with her that she had made it. Stella found out that shining wasn’t scary at all, but beautiful, and that even a small light can save big things at the right moment. Since then, she shines in the sky with pride every night, reminding all children that each of us carries a unique light inside that can help others ❤️✨.
